Management Committee

The party season is upon us! And where better to hold your party than at the Windmill? – Er, don’t answer that! Seriously though, it’s not a bad venue and we are working very hard to make it better… Kids’ parties, fund-raising parties and 50thbirthday parties – the Windmill has hosted all these and more over the past few weeks. The latest addition to our menu of party ‘extras’ is some spectacular festoon lighting courtesy of local resident Neil Skinner of SKR Lighting Design. It really transforms the space into something very special. More details on our website.

Other more permanent improvements you are likely to see in 2019 include a much more efficient (and quieter!) heating system in the Main Hall, more robust WiFi, new flooring, new fire doors, updated décor throughout and last, but not least, a complete refurbishment of the downstairs and upstairs loos. We are working hard to make the Windmill the best community centre it can be and we are grateful for your support.

Which reminds me, we have a vacancy for a Trustee. You would join our two other Trustees in overseeing the Management Committee’s activities and making sure that we fulfil our duties in an effective and financially responsible way. We are particularly interested in attracting somebody who might be able to help us with identifying and bidding on funding streams for future capital investment. Is that you? If so, please get in touch.

And finally, on behalf of the whole Windmill team, can I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you at the Windmill for the Deddington Players’ Panto on 17th, 18th and 19thJanuary. (Oh yes I will!)
