News - May 2019
I’m hoping that by the time you read this, you will have had a go on the new zip wire up at the Windmill, or maybe the new swings, or the new roundabout? You – or your children maybe? – might even have clambered all over the magnificent wooden windmill-themed attraction that sits in the middle of our brand new Adventure Playground. If so, that means we’ll have managed to open up for half term. Hoorah! The Windmill Development Group have been working really hard to make this happen. It’s been a long time coming. Thank you so much for your patience.
To mark this momentous occasion, we’d like to invite you to a ‘Picnic in the Park’ from 4pm onwards on Friday, 19thJuly. A fun-filled family afternoon out, it’ll be our official opening and a chance to thank all those who have contributed to the project. More about that next time. Look out for updates on our website and FB page.
I’d like to report that we’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our appeal for volunteers to form a new group of ‘Friends of the Windmill’, but… er… I’d be lying if I did! So, let me try again. If you think you might be able to spare a few hours now and again to help us with small one-off projects, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Roger Sykes, Windmill vice chair, on 07899 914425 or
Finally, another date for your diary. Our AGM will be held at the Windmill at 7:00pm on Wednesday 12th June. All are welcome. And remember, you can find information about everything that goes on at the Windmill on our Facebook page.
