The Windmill is run by local, volunteer, committee members who want to help The Windmill remain a vibrant part of the community.Their aim is to not only run the centre in an effective and efficient way but, through a programme of improvements, to ensure it is fit for future generations to enjoy.The Chair of the Committee is Vaughan Jones who is supported by five core committee members.We are always looking for help so, if you are interested in getting involved, let us know.

Vaughan Jones
Chair
Vaughan has been Chair since June 2017. As well as chairing meetings, he leads the team on developing strategy, prioritising objectives and working towards achieving those objectives in a timely and financially responsible way. He also represents the committee to outside organisations and liaises closely with the Parish Council on all things Windmill. Vaughan has lived in Deddington with his family since 2007 and has been an active member of the community, chairing the Nursery and Pre-school committee 2011-13, appearing in several pantos and playing football (very badly) for Deddington Town FC (Vets). He is a writer, works from home, and has published several textbooks to teach English as a foreign language.
Roger Sykes
Vice Chair
Roger has been Vice-Chair since June 2017, and been a member of the Committee since 2014 representing Deddington Town FC. He supports the Chair to set the overall policy and develop strategic objectives, and ensure there is effective and efficient administration and good governance of the Windmill. Roger has lived in Deddington with his family since 1997, and works as a Programme Manager supporting teaching and research on food systems at the University of Oxford.

Sue Ayles
Treasurer
Sue has been Treasurer since March 2017. She supports the Chair and ensures the financial administration is in good order advising on future financial planning as well as the current status. Sue has lived in Deddington since 2002, and used to be the Regional Financial Controller within the Firoka Group based at Heythrop Park in Enstone before fully retiring in 2016.
Geoff Hall
Committee Member
Geoff moved to Deddington in 2022. He previously lived in Alderley Edge near Manchester. While living there he was actively involved in a project to restore the village's community centre. Since moving to Deddington Geoff has joined the production team of the Deddington Players and he is keen to upgrade the stage and other facilities in the main hall at the Windmill. He and the other members of the Committee hope that this will enable the Windmill to stage different kinds of events and so appeal to a wider audience

Marketing and Communications Officer
We are looking to recruit a volunteer Marketing and Communications Officer promote the Windmill Community Centre and what it offers, working with current and future users and actively encouraging people take part in activities at the Windmill. The role will include managing and developing the Windmill website and social media feeds; raising the profile of the Windmill by providing up-to-date and relevant information; and actively encouraging people to join or take part in activities at the Windmill.
