Management Committee
New beginning, birds singing, what a difference a month makes! As we enter spring, we’re all getting used to the new-look Windmill with the hedges cut back, the adventure playground taking shape and the nature trail through the copse opening up. The place seems twice as big! We’re looking forward to a ‘grand opening’ scheduled for the May half-term. Watch this space.
In the meantime, we’re continuing our programme of improvements to the building. This month we get three new exterior doors fitted and a new heating system in the main hall – just in time for… er… summer ;-) Next up is new signage, new lighting inside and out, new CCTV and improved WiFi. After that we will get on with installing new showers, new loos and new upstairs flooring. It’s a long list, but we’re getting there, and we are grateful to the Parish Council for their continuing help and support.
You could help too! At the moment we are a committee of six volunteer officers running the place, supported by three trustees and three part-time staff. We’d like to bring together a new group of ‘Friends of the Windmill’ who we can call on occasionally as we look to develop in the future. So, if you are a professional with skills in fundraising, building design and project management, or a volunteer who can spare a few hours now and again to help us with small refurbishment projects, marketing initiatives and staging events, we would love to hear from you. And remember, you can find information about everything that goes on at the Windmill at www.thewindmilldeddington.orgor on our Facebook page.
