Development Officer (volunteer)

The main responsibilities and duties of the Development Officer of the Windmill Centre Management Committee are outlined below.  This is a voluntary and unpaid role.

The Development Officer will take the lead on grant applications for funding to develop the Windmill in the future 

Responsible to: The Chair and Treasurer

Responsibilities and duties

  • Lead work to keep abreast of funding opportunities for the Windmill from different sources – statutory, philanthropy and corporates, private donors;

  • Lead on the development of funding applications for capital projects;

  • Lead the work with the Windmill Centre Development Group on plans for the building extension;

  • Work closely with Deddington Parish Council on funding applications and gain agreement where needed;

  • Attend meetings hosted by Oxfordshire First about future funding opportunities

  • Report back on funding opportunities to the Officer meeting and wider Windmill Centre Committee

Key skills and experience required

  • Writing and winning applications for capital funding projects;

  • Proactive approach to seeking out funding opportunities;

  • Team player that work with a range of different stakeholders

  • Time to commit to this role

The Windmill is also a popular choice for regular group meetings and has flexible space options that suit most needs. Clubs and Groups

You’ll never be bored at The Windmill. It’s a hive of activity, playing host to multiple groups, clubs and societies suitable for all ages. Meet other parents at the toddler group, attend a fitness session, train your dog at obedience classes, brush up on your tennis skills, encourage your child to join a Scouting or Guiding group or let them dance their heart out at ballet.
